After being made redundant in 2008 she decided to return to college to gain the qualification required that would allow her to train as a Reflexologist.
After successfully completing level 3 Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology Julie began training for a level 3 Reflexology ITEC Diploma. In August 2010 and following over 100 hours of case studies and final examination her certificate was achieved with credit.
In March 2012 Julie qualified in Hypnotherapy and she now combines both Reflexology and Hypnotherapy to create unique protocols to help treat her clients.
Julie is passionate about her therapies and her continual professional development allows her to keep up to date with new research and techniques. She is especially interested in Spinal Reflexology, having had surgery on her own neck and Hypno Birthing and Maternity Reflexology.
Since January 2009 she has been working in Slaithwaite with friend and colleague Sonja Macura providing clients with natural solutions to common health problems. She has become involved with many aspects of the Slaithwaite community and is one of the original "Colander Girls" featured on the Hairy Bikers Meals on Wheels TV show.
Julie created Heart and Soles because of her passion and belief about the healing power of the feet on an individual’s health and well being. Having worn a pair of Kenkoh reflexology sandals for over a year she believes that they have contributed to her recovery and continued health following a neck operation. She now sells Kenkoh shoes at her clinic in Slaithwaite and through the Heart and Soles on-line shop.
